Summer is when the satoyama turns a deep green. Here are the experiences you can enjoy this season.

Experiences in summer

  • Bagging young pears (May–June) — cover the small fruit with paper bags to protect them from insects and rain.
  • Indigo dyeing (June–August) — dye cloth with indigo.
  • Picking summer vegetables (July–August) — harvest summer vegetables from the field.
  • Pear harvest (August–October) — pick the ripe pears from the trees.
  • Wood-fired pizza (April–November) — bake and enjoy pizza in the wood-fired oven.

Experiences and months are a guide only, and change with the weather and the pears' growth. Orchard experiences take place at the field, away from the inn. Please ask about the experiences you would like when you reserve.
