Spring is when the satoyama comes back to life and the pear trees bloom. Here are the experiences you can enjoy this season.

Experiences in spring

  • Foraging wild greens (March–May) — walk the satoyama and gather spring wild greens.
  • Kurayoshi kasuri weaving (January–March) — try weaving Kurayoshi kasuri, the local traditional textile.
  • A walk among pear blossom (April) — stroll through the orchard while the white blossoms are out.
  • Pollinating the pears (April) — dab pollen onto the pear blossoms.
  • Bagging young pears (May–June) — cover the small fruit with paper bags to protect them from insects and rain.
  • Wood-fired pizza (April–November) — bake and enjoy pizza in the wood-fired oven.

Experiences and months are a guide only, and change with the weather and the pears' growth. Orchard experiences take place at the field, away from the inn. Please ask about the experiences you would like when you reserve.
